Sunday Wanderers
Sunshine Coast
Most weekends the Sunday Wanderers set out on a walking adventure.
So far we have
- climbed Mount Coolum, - descended to Kondalilla Falls, - hiked through the Noosa National Park, - lost our way inside the Buderim Forest, - strolled through the Maroochy Botanical Gardens, - ambled around the Currimundi Foreshore Reserve, and - skipped along the beautiful beaches of the Sunshine Coast.
Our numbers vary from six to sixteen walkers. Some want to climb a hill, others prefer to canter, but most of us saunter along at a gentle pace. Whatever your preference, there is bound to be a walk to suit your needs.
We usually stop somewhere for a coffee, a quiet ale or even a meal.
We will send an email to members who have registered on our list of Sunday Wanderers. Please let me know if you would like your name added. (Sue 0416 132 582)

Sorry folks, I have just been alerted to the big Christmas event, Lights on the Lake, being held in Crummunda Park on Sunday from 4-8pm so parking and tables will be busy. The walk isn't cancelled but you may have to park further away than usual. Still meet at 3pm as in previous email, bring a chair if you are staying.

Meet by the toilet block in Crummunda Park, Coongarra Esp, Currimundi, at 3pm for a walk along the lake then through the bush track to the beach. Bring some festive nibbles and a drink for in the park on our return.
I will cancel by 1pm if it looks wet or stormy.

A reminder to everyone who indicated they will be joining us for dinner that we will start the walk around the lake, meeting outside the Brightwater Hotel, at 4pm, not 3pm. We can then have a drink before dinner orders start at 5.30pm. I will cancel the walk by 2pm if it's raining and we can meet from 5pm at the Hotel.

Sunday 12th Nov. Kawana Surf Club to Pt Cartwright
Meet in the top car park at Kawana Surf Club, Pacific Blvde, Buddina, at 3pm for a walk up to the water tower at Pt Cartwright and back. This is quite a long walk but mostly flat. Refreshments in the Surf Club when we return.

Sunday 5th Nov. Ewan Maddock Dam
Meet in the top car park at Ewan Maddock Dam at 3pm for a walk some of the way around the dam. Take Steve Irwin Way, turn right onto Connection Rd at the lights just past the BP Servo. About 1km down the road, past the Mooloolah Country Club and sports grounds, turn LEFT and follow the road up to the car park. BYO refreshments. I will cancel by 12 noon if it's looking like rain.

Thank you to those who responded to my previous email. The consensus was Brightwater Hotel so I have booked two tables of 10 in the outside area on Sunday 26th Nov, at 5pm. One big table makes it difficult to chat but we can move around. No set menu, choose your own meal and drinks. We will do the walk around the lake beforehand. Please let me know if you are coming either by email or text, DON'T REPLY TO THIS EMAIL as I won't receive it. We may not be able to accommodate anyone turning up on the day so please let me know.

Sunday Wanderers Christmas Get Together.
Could I please have an indication of members preference for a Christmas get together. We could go to either Buderim Tavern or Brightwater Hotel but will have to book soon, or we could have a BBQ and BYO in the park at Currimundi where we set off on some of our walks. Let me know your preference soon. Could you please also think about the future of the group, I would like to have a break from organising but don't want to see the group fold. It's really easy, just one email per week.

We are moving to Summer time so from now the walks will begin at 3pm.
This week, meet at the start of the Kawana Forest walk, Milieu Place, Birtinya, near the Kawana Sports Precinct, at 3pm for a boardwalk and bushland walk. BYO refreshments to have beside Lake Kawana after the walk.
