Free Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Research Program

SSBC Australia is a free diabetes prevention program designed to support adults at risk of type 2 diabetes to make practical, realistic, and sustainable changes to their health. Delivered by The Y in partnership with The University of Queensland, the program is currently being offered as part of an Australian research study. SSBC Australia is currently delivered at five community sites across South-East Queensland, including Caloundra. SSBC Australia is offered completely free as part of a research study. It involves:
• 6 one-on-one sessions with a health coach over 4-6 weeks
• Supervised exercise sessions
• Practical support for physical activity and healthy eating
• Health and clinical checks to track progress
• A participant workbook and follow-up surveys

Complete a short online screening questionnaire to check your eligibility. You may be eligible if you:
• Are 18 years or older
• Are not currently pregnant
• Do not currently have diabetes
• Are at increased risk of type 2 diabetes (as measured by the survey)
• Can attend the program on site and provide consent for the research study
