The Jazz & Blues Collective presents:
SHANNON MARSHALL & THE SOULS ALMIGHTY
Sunday 4th October Millwell Road Community Centre.
While many of us can’t even play one instrument, Shannon Marshall is busy playing two – three if you include his velvety-smooth vocal abilities. Surrender to his soulful sounds at the Jazz & Blues Collective this month.
Shannon Marshall is brimming with talent. Not only did he hit the jackpot in the vocal lottery, he also plays the trumpet and flugelhorn with aplomb, making him one of Brisbane’s coolest and most captivating musicians. Regarded as Southeast Queensland’s trumpet player of choice, Shannon is set to grace the stage of the Millwell Road Community Centre on Sunday 4th October at the Jazz & Blues Collective.
Born and bred in Brisbane, Shannon has served as a long-time member of many of the city’s notable bands including AfroDizziAct, The West End Composer’s Collective, and his own group The Souls Almighty. As a leading Australian instrumentalist, he has performed and toured throughout Australia and Asia with his own band, as well as with some of the Australia’s most formidable artists, including Wendy Matthews, Doug Parkinson, Glenn Shorrock and Rhonda Burchmore. He also regularly works alongside the obscenely talented James Morrison playing in his funk and Motown show.
Shannon will be performing a seriously groovy selection of jazz and soul classics with his long-standing band, the Souls Almighty. Featuring the virtuosic Dancin’ Dale Rabic on the Hammond organ, Fender Rhodes and pedal bass, the mighty Dave Longo on guitar and Paul ‘The Hitman’ Hudson on drums, Shannon leads this band of powerhouse musicians through deep musical waters. To hear Shannon sing and play his own brand of soulful jazz, book your tickets now.
