Sunshine Coast songbird and five-time ARIA Award-winning artist Katie Noonan will perform in celebration of her landmark 30th studio album with a special show at The Majestic Theatre in Pomona on 26 September – accompanied by the River Suite String Quartet.
Released earlier this year, the #1 ARIA Australian Artist physical album 'Alone but all one' is an intimate and powerful exploration of love in all its stages, and marks Katie’s first songwriting collaboration with her friend, acclaimed writer Trent Dalton.
The album is a powerful and delicate offering with Katie’s piano and the string quartet the only accompaniment for her exquisite vocal performance.
“This album is for anyone who’s gone through a life shift – not just separation, but grief, uncertainty, or quiet reinvention.” reveals Katie, “It’s music for sitting with things. For remembering we’re not alone, even in solitude. It’s personal, but I hope it will resonate in a way that becomes collective.”
‘Alone but all one’ is a quiet turning inward – a return to something essential. Musically it is very stripped back – just Katie, her piano and a string quartet, recorded live in her lounge room on Gubbi Gubbi Country in the hills behind Nambour, Queensland.
It feels like a deep breath before the next chapter. The creative intention is clear: to honour this moment, share it with care, and trust that others will feel themselves in it too.
Audiences can expect an ntimate performance filled with incredible songs and captivating stories – hallmarks of Katie’s celebrated live shows. Alongside songs from Alone but all one, Katie will draw from her remarkable catalogue, creating a very special night of music.
For Katie’s Pomona show, she’ll be supported by fellow Sunshine Coast local, seasoned performer and songwriter Alys Ffion. Alys blends folk-pop, acoustic and contemporary country influences with deeply personal storytelling.
