Timeless Baroque music from the silver screen, brought to life in superb performances by Arioso Chamber Ensemble.
Baroque music regularly features in film scores, including “Master and Commander”, “Pride and Prejudice”, “The English Patient”, “Farinelli”, The Favourite and Batman! It captures every mood and has been used to great effect in many memorable screen moments, from the elegance of Henry Purcell’s melodies heard in the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack, to the swaggering strumming of Boccherini’s “La Musica Notturna” in Master and Commander.
Internationally renowned counter-tenor Tobias Merz joins Arioso artists Margaret Caley and Jacqueline Webber (baroque violin), Janet Brewer (harpsichord) and Shannon Scheltema (viola da gamba) in this delightful programme. Arioso Chamber Ensemble has a passion for bringing Baroque music to a wider audience and brings together the talents and experience of leading specialists in Baroque performance. Aiming to present high quality Historically Informed engaging performances, they regularly perform in festivals and concerts from Maryborough to Armidale. The concert will be held at 4:00pm Saturday 31st October at the Majestic Theatre, 3 Factory St, Pomona 4568.
